Compensation: $101,920 - $137,384 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time or PRN / Pool (based on role)
Location: Hospital / Inpatient Setting

Position Overview
Legacy Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our client’s rehabilitation team. This role is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, swallowing, cognitive, and communication disorders in accordance with hospital policies, professional standards, and state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized speech-language therapy plans of care in accordance with professional and regulatory standards
- Perform comprehensive assessments of speech, language, swallowing, cognition, perception, sensation, coordination, and communication skills
- Establish short- and long-term treatment goals in collaboration with patients, families, and caregivers
- Provide skilled speech-language therapy treatment and monitor patient progress and response to care
- Modify treatment plans based on patient ability, progress, and physician direction
- Delegate and supervise speech therapy assistants and support staff as appropriate, while maintaining responsibility for patient care
- Schedule and coordinate speech therapy services with other departments based on patient needs, equipment availability, and space
- Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, outcomes, and responses to care in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements
- Track patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
- Bill speech therapy services in accordance with company policy and regulatory guidelines
Discharge Planning Responsibilities
- Perform home assessments as needed
- Provide patient and family education and instruction
- Recommend equipment, home programs, and community support resources
Additional Duties
- Assist leadership with productivity planning and outcome monitoring
- Review patient satisfaction, outcomes, and safety data
- Recommend departmental equipment and resource needs
- Participate in hospital and department education programs
- Stay current on research, evidence-based practices, and new developments in rehabilitation
- Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and competencies
- Report concerns, incidents, or compliance issues promptly and appropriately
Qualifications
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the applicable state
- Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility to obtain
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Preferred Experience
- Hospital or inpatient rehabilitation experience
- Experience with dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic disorders, and medically complex patients
